Ty is on his way to ecru!

There's an app for that!

I'm not one for bragging on apple being married to a microsoft man, but I will give credit when it's due. 1st justin and I are in Atlanta spending the weekend. We went to the world of coke and the aquarium. We had a blast spending the day together and now I'm blogging about because . . . There's an app for that! 2nd, we got back to the hotel about 8:00 with our to-go supper. The power was out! Apparently a transformer blew and it would be about an hour before the power came back on so justin and I ate a lovely "dimly lite" dinner in the hotel lobby by the window. Finally we decided to come on up stairs ( on the 5th floor) to our room. The flashlight on my phone came in real handy. . .there's an app for that! Soon I'll update again with pics of our new puppy because. . . There's an app for that too!

Blogging on the iPhone!

Just trying this out. I found an app that will let me blog from my phone. This is not normally a necessity, but it will come in handy on the road. Not while I'm driving! Justin will drive, I will blog. On our way to Atlanta to get a puppy and spend the weekend together!

Happy Memorial Day

I hope everyone’s having a great weekend.  Tomorrow’s a bank holiday, so I’m excited.  I turned 28 yesterday.  Yep, another year older.  I have so much to be thankful for: Jesus, My Wife, My Family, My Health, “Livin” in Ecru to name a few.  Those are things that are easily taken for granted, but I’ve been trying to stop and be more appreciative of them lately.  Abigail and I have been intensely researching dog breeds.  We believe we have found that one perfect breed for this point in our lives.  Our choice, a Havanese .  Anyone want to take a guess on the price tag?  $800!!!  Hold the phone. This is a dog we’re talking about.  How can anyone expect me to pay that much for a dog.  It’s a pet.  It’s not like we’re getting into show business.  If any of you know a Havanese breeder who is willing to sell a puppy to a loving family for around $300-350, please let me know.  Havanese are a beautiful dog.  On a more serious note, tomorrow is Memorial Day.  I hope everyone has a safe and

Not a city girl anymore!

Ok, let me explain the background to this statement. If you have ever been to Ecru, you know “city” is not really a good description of my hometown.  However, growing up, I always lived in the “city limits”.  When Justin and I got married, he teased me about being a city girl that moved to the country!  The first summer we were married, I had to clean the air conditioning filters for our window units.  Justin teased me about truly being a country girl after that.  So, tonight (after 3 years of marriage) I earned my newest country girl badge! I learned and actually did – till the garden!  Justin and I have had a garden every year and I have asked each year to learn to use the tiller.  Justin said the tiller was too dangerous for me to use.  Well, for those of you who know us, you know that Justin is not in the condition to run a garden tiller.  Although, it has been 9 months since surgery, he still is very sore if he does too much at one time.  So to save him being sore and achy, he r

Take a break . . .

Summer break is almost here and I am ready to breath again.  But when I think about it, my life has never been that calm.  There is always something going on.  If it weren’t, I would probably be bored.  Growing up with 3 siblings meant there was always something going on.  I wouldn’t want it any other way.  My mom used to call our house “Grand Central Station.” Someone asked me this morning, “What are you going to do this summer?”  Well, I have yard projects written out to do.  You can never get completely caught up with that.  I have 3 closets I want to clean out in my house so that they can actually be used.  I am a short term pack –rat and then when “summer” cleaning gets here, its all out the door.  Also, my sister, Amber, is working on summer mission projects here at home!  She is so awesome.  She is going to work with the youth from our church to plan 4 different “back-yard Bible Clubs”  (for lack of a better name) in our area.  I will be around to help her when needed.  I met

Life goes on . . .

What a busy, fun, hectic, sad weekend.  Saturday morning, my mom calls at 5:30am, “Have you looked at the weather? I think it is going to rain.  What are our rainy day Flugtag plans?”  At 5:30 in the morning, I don’t usually know much of anything.  I told her not to worry, she and I had both prayed for the Lord to work this out for us!  At 7:30, my boss called and said, “I will be at the school in 30 minutes so we can move to plan B” At 7:45 the Emcee sent a text asking, “what are the plans?”  See I told you God would work it all out.  And HE did!  It was awesome!  My principal was able to get permission to have it in the high School gym!  We laid huge tarps on the floor (so as not to damage it!) and Flugtag continued on with a bang!  It was a great day!  Our students were awesome!  The parents worked so hard on the food and everything!  I can’t say thanks enough to the parents and students!  My sister, Amber, did an awesome job with costumes and props!  She had to get students dressed

Flugtag

Getting ready for flugtag!  My students have been great and I’m very excited about tomorrow.  If you want to come watch some great kids perform skits in homemade costumes and throw a homemade airplane, then come join us on Saturday!  We will start tomorrow at 10:00 and be finished around 2:00pm.  Admission is FREE, but if you donate a dollar you enter a chance to win lots of wonderful door prizes!  You might want to bring some water/and or snacks, we won’t have concessions for sell.  It will be on the football field at North Pontotoc.  We have been praying for a beautiful day with a light breeze to keep us just right!  I know the Lord can give us what we need!  I also know that if it rains, HE will take care of Plan B as well, which is the Middle School PE Gym! It will be worth your 4 hours on a Saturday for good country fun! I need a nap . . . . . .

Blogging on a lazy, rainy Saturday night . . .

I’ve been meaning to talk about this lately, but has slipped my mind. For those of you who follow my blog, you know that back in March on vacation my family swapped secret sibling gifts. My secret sibling got me a “BAGGU”. This is a shopping bag with a cute little pouch to put it in. I am officially going green. So, it took me a few weeks to get up the nerve to use it because it isn’t something most people around here use. My bag is very cute, its black with white polka dots. (I got this picture from the BAGGU website and I think this is the one I have.) So a few weeks ago, I got up the nerve to use it at Red Line Markets (our local grocery store). My cousin, who was the cashier that night, laughed at me when I said, “I have my own bag.” Anyway, I had finally got that first time over and have now used it at Wal-Mart too. Most of the time, my groceries at Wal-Mart won’t fit into that one bag, but I have been telling the cashier she can put more items in the same bag. The cashier at Wal
