Good Times

This week has been a great week!  It didn’t start off too well, but it has made up for itself.  For anyone who doesn’t know, our dog (Ty) has been taking beginner training classes for a few weeks now.  We have been going every Monday night to PetsMart for an hour to learn commands such as: sit, stand, down, up, leave it, take it, drop it, and STAY.  He is passing with flying colors with the exception of STAY!  We thought he would get to graduate last week, but unfortunately STAY did not go well.  I understand that he should not pass if he doesn’t know the commands, but still disappointed.  Monday night was not a good night.  Tuesday morning, I took a deep breath and decided this would not ruin my week.  The week began to improve - - I like to sleep, I need sleep, I’m a happy person when I get to go to bed early, I get up on time and not in a rush, when I go to bed on time.  This week, Justin had a busy week at work and he was pretty ex...

Bragging Rights

Just wanted to take this opportunity to brag on my husband!  We don’t usually do much to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but he never forgets it.  Friday afternoon he came home with a bouquet of beautiful roses and some chocolate.  The chocolate was in a heart shaped box like the standard heart shaped box of chocolate, but Justin knows that I do not like that kind of chocolate.  I only eat the caramel ones and I don’t like most of the other pieces in the box.  (I think I told him that the very 1st year we dated!)  So, he picked out a box of Ghirardelli Chocolate – individually wrapped with caramel squares – My favorite!!  Saturday, I went shopping with Amber, Amy, Brandy and Mom for dresses for Am’s wedding!  (We found her a beautiful wedding dress at a different store, picked out lovely bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses - -AND had a wonderful time doing it!)  Anyway, this is about my husband - - when I got home, he had unloaded and reload...

Passions

Those who know me well, would probably say that I am not the most high strung person they know (or hopefully not), but would most certainly agree that I have my “Soap boxes” as some may call them or as I prefer my “Passion Points”.   However, in expressing these Passions, I try to exhibit self-control.  (Something I preach to my students about.  Know yourself and control yourself).  I’m sure hard for most of you to believe, but I have worked diligently over the past few years, diagnosing myself, controlling my impulsive defensive speech, and learning my trigger points.   (Working with Gifted Students helps me learn these things about myself.) To the Point . . . This past Saturday, I spent the day with the Girls of the family looking for Bridesmaids dresses for my beautiful sister, Amber (the Bride). During this trip, I exhibited much self-control, identified my “triggers” and “bit my tongue”.  (Frustration from employees not family).  It ...
