Home again Home again . . .

Spring is here!! When Justin and I got home from vacation some beautiful flowers had bloomed! We couldn't resist making a beautiful arrangement. The irises and buttercups (jonquils) are beautiful no maintenance perennials! We let 'em bloom and enjoy God's creation!  The vase is from Taste of Home Entertaining (contact Megan Jones for more info). I also have a few more pics from vacation!  We finished the week with some challenging putt putt golf and a beautiful sunrise on Saturday morning! Once again – The beauty of GOD!!   Lastly, we took a short detour by Atlanta Motor Speedway on the way home.  This track has 24 degree banking!  You can't tell how unbelievable that is from the pictures, but trust me it is awesome!!

Hilton Head Update

Image
I finally have a minute or two to update! Our vacation has been so much fun!  I recapped earlier but let me review.  We arrived Saturday afternoon and got settled in.  On Sunday, we all went to the First Baptist Church here on the Island (we went to the “modern” service – a first for Justin – A little different from Ecru Baptist).  Then we watched our first St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  And can I say – Ecru isn’t the only parade with fire trucks and rednecks.  The local officials rode in convertibles just like the homecoming queens!  I think we should start this in ECRU!! Amy and JD drove all night Sunday and were here to bring in the sunrise on the East Coast.  This was our first east coast sunrise.  It was cloudy, so the pictures aren’t the best, but they get better.  This was taken from our patio.   Once the week started things just flew by. . . On Tuesday, we we...

VACATION

A quick update from Hilton Head, SC . . . Quick list for things we have done: Watched the sunrise on a cloudy morning Walked down the road with the girls! Played golf at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course Went to Savannah and ate a Paula Deen's - completely worth the $20 for the buffet. The food was great! I don't eat greens, but I ate 2 helpings of greens off the buffet. The best buffet ever!! Saw an old church in Savannah More updates later . . .

Snow Day . . .

I can't believe it snowed! The weather man said it would but I was skeptical. Of course, its almost melted by now, but still . . . SNOW!! We got a snow day from church, but that is not the same as a snow day out of school. Still striving onward with the National Boards. I actually think I made good progress this week. My goal for finishing is two weeks. We are going on vacation during Spring Break and I don't want that hanging over me. My sweet husband encourages by saying, "You're the one that is going to be working while I play all week." I guess he knows how to motivate me and he would . . . "Play without me" on spring break. He really has been great and always ask how he can help me finish, but there really isn't anything he can do. I want to finish, pack, and mail it before we leave. It has to be postmarked by March 31st, so if I don't get it mailed before I leave I might can live with that. This is my busy life. My friends ar...

Rambling on my blog . . .

Not much to report on here. I am still working on my National Boards and not even sure that I will get paid if I pass. The budget is not looking good. We have been told to turn off the computers at night and watch our thermostats during the day to help cut costs. So, paying extra for National Board certification may not be high priority! Amy, thanks so much for encouraging me forward with your comments! I didn't know if you read my blog (which I hardly ever update!). I have accomplishments written and rewritten once. I am still waiting on the second revision. I have basically done the same on the Social Studies Entry. The writing entry is coming along. I am waiting for the kids to finish the second writing! SCIENCE is scary! I can't wrap my mind around what I need to do! Pushing forward the best I can looking forward to Spring Break and Hilton Head! Justin and I are still working on the weight loss. We are up to about 6 pounds each. Not a big loss, but the slower it comes off ...

Catching Up!

So its no secret, I'm terrible at blogging! How long has it been? I was off for Christmas and still couldn't find the time! Our lives aren't as exciting as most. I'm working dilegently on my National Boards (as you can tell, since I am spending time doing this!) My mom has been great about pushing me ownward, but at some point, I'm going to have to push myself. I'm usually a procastinator, but not usually to this extent. I keep telling myself I can do this, but the motivation is lacking. As I was telling Beth earlier today. I sit at my computer and stare at the documents I am writing. Nothing comes to mind. Just staring and thinking . . . My loving husband sits in his new recliner in our office reading his Microsoft books and setting goals to accomplish! If he wasn't in here, I would be even worse. We have a small tv in our office, which will no longer work after the digital transition, but when I am alone I watch whatever is on the 2 channels that the anten...
School is almost out and Christmas is almost here!!! I must get some shopping done for Justin. We bought all the other presents that we have to buy. Now I must buy his! Tomorrow I'm meeting Meg in Tupelo for coffee and shopping! I am very excited!! I can't wait until Christmas! Justin and I are beginning to start our own family traditions and that is so much fun! Friday night my brother, sister, mom, dad and I are going to be singing at a Christmas party! I love to sing and especially with my family!!
